At DNYA Stainless Steel, we supply high-quality 316L Stainless Steel Sheets & Plates, a low-carbon, molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel that offers exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich and acidic environments. As a modified version of standard 316, 316L (UNS S31603 / EN 1.4404) offers improved weldability and reduced risk of intergranular corrosion, making it ideal for welded structures and hygienic applications.
From chemical processing plants to marine equipment and food-grade surfaces, 316L is the trusted material of choice across industries demanding durability, hygiene, and resistance to harsh elements.
316L stainless steel is the low-carbon version of 316 stainless steel, containing 2–3% molybdenum for enhanced pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. The reduced carbon content (≤0.03%) improves its resistance to sensitization, which can occur during welding or long-term high-temperature exposure.
This makes 316L especially suited for fabricated components, pressure vessels, and sanitary applications, where corrosion resistance and structural integrity are critical.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance
Suitable for usage in salty, chemical, and acidic conditions.
Improved Resistance to Pitting and Crevice Corrosion
Thanks to its molybdenum content.
Excellent Weldability
Low carbon content prevents carbide precipitation during welding.
Hygienic & Easy to Clean
Widely used in food, medical, and pharmaceutical industries.
Good High-Temperature Resistance
Performs up to 870°C (continuous) and 925°C (intermittent).
Non-Magnetic in Annealed Condition
May become slightly magnetic after cold working.
